Students:

Review your SEOP and course selections with your counselor to make sure that you are satisfying both college preparatory and high school graduation requirements.

Consider taking honors, AP, IB, and Concurrent Enrollment classes. Find out what it takes to enroll in these types of courses.

Update your college planning files and/or storage device at the end of each quarter. Search for activities that can enhance your personal resume.

Take the practice ACT test called the PLAN this fall. The test is scheduled by your high school counselor and usually takes place in October or November.

Take the PSAT in October. The scores for this test will not count towards the National Merit Scholarship program but it will provide invaluable practice for the test next year when it counts! Ask your counselor what it means to be a National Merit Scholar.

Most Utah high school students take the ACT for college admission in April of their junior year. We suggest that you also take the SAT since it is different from the ACT and you may score higher on this exam.

Start practicing for these tests using the UtahMentor interactive ACT/SAT Test Prep.
